also we no longer have our crack sas bavarian rescue team which we had the last time someone took a big fall on sea stack
well worth having a good think about what your going to do if things do go wrong especially since neither of your are rec level 2 trained

I was sport climbing in france and got laughed at for wearing a helmet by other french climbers i then proceed to head butt an over hang really hard half way up the climb as i was making sure my foot placements were good when i stood up forgetting the overhang was so close and bang. i've seen people modifying them on the internet in various blogs but it means altering the actual axe since it isn't designed to take the trigger guard. I never liked the thought of this. unless your climbing serious vertical ice like grade 4 you don't bash your knuckles that much. google it i'm sur...
